Paratransit Roadeo

Home Up

The New Jersey Council on Special Transportation's 24th Annual New Jersey Paratransit Roadeo was held on held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the NJ Department of Transportation Headquarters located in West Trenton, NJ. The event was sponsored by COST and New Jersey Transit's Office of Local Programs Support.

The Paratransit Roadeo allows drivers from around the state to compete against one another's driving skills. The Roadeo course is a maze of barrels and cones designed to represent everyday driving patterns. Drivers are scored on how successful they are in maneuvering their vehicle around each obstacle. Scores are also tallied on client sensitivity, wheelchair boarding and a written examination.
